A fundamental part of any building project is the ‘budget’. We feel strongly that without good cost control, especially at the early stage of a project, the Client’s expectations can easily be undermined as the project progresses.

We offer specialist cost management advice, provided by our pool of Chartered Quantity Surveyors who work with us as part of our team to help ensure the project budget is properly controlled.

We regularly include Cost Plans at the feasibility stage of a project – this provides a good indication of the overall budget requirements and allows us to progress or modify the design accordingly. The cost management process then continues throughout the design and tender stages.

Following receipt of tenders from alternative contractors, we analyse the figures, negotiate any anomalies that may be apparent and prepare a Tender Report with our recommendations.

Once the project starts on site, the Quantity Surveyor will undertake monthly valuations, including retention sums, and agree the final cost certificate on completion. Ultimately, this aims to provide the Client with financial certainty throughout all key stages of the project.
