The building was constructed using sustainably sourced timber cladding and framing with reclaimed roof tiles. An analysis of the building’s energy usage was undertaken which resulted in a highly insulated building with, infra red heating and a PV cell array. The building is naturally ventilated wherever possible and foul water is collected in a bio septic tank which breaks down organic waste. The heating system is zoned allowing only kennels that are occupied to be heated, reducing energy waste.
All surfaces have been designed and specified to be robust, with hard wearing materials and in accordance with DEFRA guidelines.
