LED Architects are delighted to announce the newly completed house extension in Yeovil has been shortlisted for the 2019 LABC South West Building Excellence Awards, in the category ” Best Extension or Alteration to an Existing Home”.
One key element of the Client’s brief was to take advantage of their fabulous view over Somerset from their home’s elevated position. They are delighted with the transformation the extension has made to their home.
The project was completed in September 2018. LED Architects worked closely with the Principal Contractor, Qube Construct Ltd. and Local Authority Building control to ensure the build quality and construction was of the highest standard. The extension includes the following features;
- Fully breathable timber frame construction
- High levels of natural light and natural ventilation
- High levels of insulation giving exceptional U value (reducing heat loss).
- Triple glazed aluminium composite external windows, doors and roof glazing.
- Sustainably sourced timber cladding
- Underfloor heating
The awards will take place in Plymouth on Friday 24th May 2019
