This new build ground and first floor extension has transformed the original 1960s dwelling into a wonderfully light and airy property for our Clients that maximises the spectacular panoramic views across the South Somerset countryside.
The new living / dining area offers an open-plan space that links seamlessly with the other rooms of the house. It also has level access to the large raised terrace via generous triple-glazed sliding doors allowing a true feeling of the ‘inside being outside’. The perimeter of the terrace is protected by a structural glass balustrade maintaining uninterrupted views either standing or sitting.
The new first floor extension provides a large master bedroom suite, complete with shower room, again offering spectacular views to the horizon.
Triple gazing is used throughout and the combination of dark composite timber / aluminium window frames, render and cedar cladding create a complementary modern addition to the original house.
Internally, the ceiling lines of the new extension follow the roof pitches, creating angled, lofty spaces which direct the eye outwards and upwards to the sky and the panoramic views ahead.
