LED Architects secured detailed planning permission for five stadium floodlight masts at Somerset County Cricket Club’s County Ground in Taunton.

The proposals were developed to provide the lighting performance required for modern professional cricket while responding carefully to the ground’s sensitive town-centre setting. The planning work considered the height, position and appearance of the masts, their relationship with existing stands and buildings, and the wider visual impact on views towards and across the ground.

The scheme forms part of the Club’s continuing investment in the County Ground, enabling greater flexibility in the scheduling and broadcasting of matches, including evening fixtures, while maintaining the distinctive character of this historic cricket ground.
