New Animal Treatment Centre

Delivered under a Design and Build contract, LED Architects developed the full technical design using a detailed BIM model to coordinate structure, services and specialist requirements. Because the site is at risk of flooding, materials and construction details were selected for resilience. Externally, timber and profiled aluminium cladding give the steel-framed building a robust, low-maintenance agricultural character appropriate to its rural setting.

The new centre provides a modern base for the rescue, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Accommodation includes reception and waiting areas, animal rehabilitation and assessment rooms, preparation spaces, offices, staff facilities, storage and accessible WCs. A lift connects all three levels, while landscaped external areas and permeable parking form part of the wider site improvements.
