Diamond Farm Cafe

The renovation transformed a derelict barn into a busy cafe and holiday accommodation while retaining as much of the existing building as practicable. The approximately 100-year-old structure is characterised by red-brick elevations and distinctive geometric clay roof tiles. Its poor structural condition required a new roof structure of oak trusses and purlins, allowing the roof to be rebuilt with improved insulation and a new boarded soffit while preserving the character of the original barn. New timber windows and doors were fitted within existing openings, bringing good levels of natural light into the building and substantially improving thermal performance.
