City of Bristol Gymnastics Centre

The centre brings together a main gymnastics and performance hall, training stage, fully equipped dance studio, changing facilities, servery and viewing area, reception and offices. Its simple rectilinear form responds directly to the demanding spatial requirements of gymnastics, with specialist equipment, run-ups and safety margins carefully coordinated into the architecture.

A robust brick plinth and silver solid-core laminate cladding sit beneath a generous oversailing roof. Within the main hall, semi-translucent Kalwall cladding creates a bright, softly lit interior while limiting glare and contributing to the thermal performance of the envelope.
